Fall 2026 Programs

Fall 2026 Programs
Welcome! Each day at Campbellcroft has a special theme but also includes the essential elements that are the foundation of who we are. Always a hike down a babbling brook. Always a silent sit spot beneath the hemlocks. Always a hilarious hang with the naughty goats. Always some free play with our friends. Always a slow and meandering pace with a focus on our senses and the tranquil beauty that surrounds us here in the hills.
Take a gander at our plans for each day and see what piques your interest! Join us for one or several days this fall!
Monday: Forest Foodies
“Real food doesn’t have ingredients. Real food is ingredients.” Jamie Oliver
Our kids are super creative beings. They are, by nature, inherent risk-takers – they don’t care about perfection or things being just so. They love trying new things and learning new skills. They also love tasty eats!! Our Forest Foodie program sees our children working together to read recipes, measure, mix and chop ingredients and then learn to harness fire and flame to kick out some amazing dishes. Think: dutch oven apple crisp; bubbly mac & cheese; fried eggs and bacon; crepes topped with whipped cream and Campbellcroft maple syrup – all kissed by wood smoke and prepared by our kids working together as a cohesive team.
Ages 5 and up

Tuesday: Art and Animals
“Everyone should be quiet near a little stream and listen.” Ruth Krauss
Is your child creative, deep, perhaps a little on the quieter side? Are you looking for a place where your child can express themselves artistically, with a wide array of media, opportunity and experiences? Our Arts & Animals program is an opportunity for our children to have an immersive experience where they are simultaneously soaking in the peace and tranquility of our forest setting, while also getting the chance to make art, take care of farm animals, and spend time with friends who value and appreciate the same things in life.
Children will have the opportunity to experiment with paint, fibre arts, ink, watercolor and even dabble in stop motion animation! We have the pleasure of local artist Amos Shelley leading our artists on their journey.
Ages 5 and up

Wednesday: Bushcrafters
Does your child want to tie knots and build cool shelters? Learn to start a fire using collected materials and a flint and steel? Hike and explore while becoming confident in navigating their surroundings? Use knives and other simple tools to whittle and debark raw material. Identify native plants and figure out what makes great food and medicine? This session we plan to continue our work on our outpost located on a more distant location on our property! Let’s put those outdoor skills to good use! Our Bushcrafters day is the perfect opportunity for your child to build their character and confidence while having a blast outside!
Ages 7 and up

Thursday: Birds + Words
“Every spring
I hear the thrush singing
in the glowing woods
he is only passing through.
His voice is deep,
then he lifts it until it seems
to fall from the sky.
I am thrilled.
I am grateful.” -Mary Oliver
We shall wander in the woods and listen. In this session the goal is to share various forms of inspiring literature with the children; mainly poetry and short stories evoking thoughts of the natural world. The aim is to spend time in nature more closely observing what we see and hear, to then create our own pieces of writing. We may go as far as to create our own paper and books and press plant materials for keepsakes. We also hope to come away from this session having learned to identify several species of birds and plants common in our immediate environment.
Ideally children will be able to write independently, however we are happy and willing to scribe and support as needed. The main requirement is an interest in what we are doing and a willingness to participate.
Ages 7 and up

Friday: Wee Ones
“Play is the highest form of research.” Albert Einstein
And play we will! Our days will provide ample amounts of free time for the children to explore and engage with the natural world and each other.
The pace will be nice and slow for the Wee Ones as we care for the farm animals, do nature based crafts, sing and read stories and spend lots of time climbing, puddle jumping, and playing games!
Our hope is for your Wee One to come home with muddy boots, treasures in their pockets and a twinkle in their eye!
Ages 3-6
Half and full day options available. (Age 3 may only attend half days, ages 4-6 can choose half or full day)
